Stivo Simple Boy, also known as Stephen Otieno Adera, is a testament to the fact that success can come from humble beginnings. Born in Homabay county in 1990, Stivo has risen from his humble background to become a successful musician and millionaire.
Stivo’s early life was marked by struggle and hard work. After completing his primary education in Nairobi’s Kibera slums, he dropped out of high school due to financial difficulties. To make ends meet, Stivo started working as a security personnel but was eventually fired. He then worked in the construction industry for three years before finding his true passion in music.
Stivo’s love for singing dates back to his childhood. He was particularly fond of the Kiswahili language and often used it in his songs. His breakthrough came in 2019 when he was invited to perform on a local TV show and his song, Mihadharati, went viral. Despite initially being mocked for his appearance, Stivo’s talent and unique style soon made him a household name.
Despite facing challenges with his former management, who allegedly took advantage of his newfound fame and kept him in poverty, Stivo persevered and was eventually rescued by a new management team. His hit songs, Freshi Barida, and others have earned him numerous gigs and lucrative deals, including one that saw him pocket KSH 500,000 and build a house for his parents. Today, Stivo is considered one of Kenya’s most successful musicians and is living a lavish lifestyle.
