Manzi Wa Kibera Discloses the Reason that Made Her Stop Dating ‘Wababaz’

Manzi wa Kibera, a Kenyan socialite, recently shared insights into her decision to discontinue dating multiple men, particularly those significantly older than her, during an interview with our host, Ciku.

Reflecting on her past lifestyle, she revealed that she abandoned the practice of dating multiple men about two years ago. The overwhelming experience drained her emotionally, and over time, she found it increasingly challenging to maintain a balance among her various relationships.

“In the past, I used to be involved with multiple men. Two years ago, I decided to put an end to it because it became quite challenging. Juggling the demands of these individuals was not an easy task,” shared Manzi wa Kibera during the interview.

Despite acknowledging that her previous lifestyle had provided a means of livelihood, she chose to step away from it due to the emotional toll it took on her.

During our discussion, Manzi Wa Kibera offered a glimpse into her residence in Kibera and explained why she doesn’t stay there regularly, despite having been provided another house by her familiar benefactor, referred to as ‘Mbaba.’ She disclosed that even though she had a relationship with a 60-year-old boyfriend, she thought it prudent to have a backup plan in case things went awry, ensuring she had an alternative place to retreat.

Explaining her decision to relocate to the Ghetto, where she currently resides, she emphasized that life on this side is more manageable compared to the other side of the river, where living expenses are considerably higher. Given that she is not currently employed, she prefers the affordability of life in the Ghetto.

“My primary reason for moving was that life outside [the Ghetto] is expensive. Here in Kibera, you can afford to have three meals a day with just 200 Ksh,” clarified Manzi wa Kibera.

She expressed no intention of moving out, citing her commitment to a foundation supporting the needy and her aspirations to establish her own business. Additionally, she plans to renovate her current residence to serve as the headquarters for her endeavors, as they currently lack a dedicated space.
