Speaking in an exclusive interview , Martha Nyawira Wamwea stated that problems with the husband began before she found out about his relationship with her firstborn daughter.
She noted that he had become physically abusive, forcing her to relocate from Tanzania, where they lived, to Kenya.
“He used to beat me up, send me away from the house with our children and one day I decided enough was enough and came back to Nairobi living every household item with him,” she recalled.
Wamwea said he followed her and vowed to change his ways and become a better husband.
“He followed me to Kenya and apologised, promising not to harm me and the kids again. I forgave him, and we started living once again from scratch,” she said.
Kirinyaga woman walks in on husband and daughter
The couple went back to living their lives with the man doing boda boda business while the woman did laundry for people commonly known as mama fua business.
She narrated that life went back to normal until she conceived her lastborn child.
At this time, her daughter had already begun showing her bad attitude, talking back and clicking at her.
“I was seven months pregnant, and I left the house to go and wash a client’s clothes. I left my firstborn daughter in the house, and at this time, she did not even want to see me or perform the duties I assigned her. Sometimes, she became violent with me,” Wamwea said.
The heartbroken mother revealed that she had her firstborn when she was still young and was not her husband’s child.
She noted that whenever she tried to discipline her, the man intervened, and she was branded a bad person.
The young mother of four said she walked in on her husband and daughter without clothes on the bed, adding that she fell down due to the shocking sight.
“I came back from my hustle at around 3 pm. The door was not locked and when I got in, I found them without clothes on the bed. Maybe they thought I would come back late,” she said amid tears.
Martha Wamwea chased out of her house
When she asked why they betrayed her trust, the two kept quiet. She then went and called the landlord to help solve the issue.
The husband boldly told the landlord that he would prefer living with the young girl to her mother.
“The landlord asked him why he would sleep with his daughter even though he did not sire her. He told the landlord that he’d rather live with my daughter than live with me,” she stated.
“My daughter became verbally abusive; they threw my clothes out and asked me never to step foot in that house again or she would beat me up. I had to go with my two kids and the one I was expecting,” Wamwea said.
The distraught mother packed her clothes in a sack and left with her three children, leaving her daughter with her husband.
She called one of her friends who helped her move to Naivasha, Nakuru county where she currently lives with her children in deplorable conditions.
“He wasted my time and resources; right now, I have nothing, and it is because of him. He destroyed our marriage,” she said.
The mother of four has said she forgives her daughter but would not like to associate with her.
“What she did was wrong; being married to her dad even though he didn’t sire her is wrong. I have forgiven her, but I would not like to be close to her,” she said.
Martha Wamwea said that with enough money, she could open a hotel and sell blended fruit juice to support herself and her children.
To support her, well-wishers can channel their contributions or reach her though the phone number 0796437482 (Martha Nyawira Wamwea.
