Kenya’s Beatrice Chebet emerges as the World Athletics Cross Country Tour winner

Beatrice Chebet of Kenya has emerged as the triumphant winner of the World Athletics Cross Country Tour, securing victory in three consecutive Cross Country championships.

Her impressive streak began with commanding performances at the Gold level meetings in Atapuerca in October, followed by Elgoibar in February, and culminated in her recent triumph at the World Cross Country Championships in Belgrade.

With these outstanding achievements, Chebet currently stands atop the overall standings with an impressive total score of 3880 points.

Close behind her is fellow Kenyan, Edinah Jebitok, who secured victories in Seville, Venta de Banos, and Hannut, accumulating a total score of 3720 points, tying with Ethiopia’s Likina Amebaw. Amebaw claimed wins in Amorebieta, Soria, and Alcobendas, placing both athletes in joint second place.

Cash prizes await the top six finishers in the Tour, with Chebet set to receive KSH 1.4 million as her well-deserved reward.
