Kenyan rapper Femi One, whose real name is Wanjiku Kimani, has denied rumors that the well-known Kikuyu Akorino singer Hezeh Ndung’u is her father.
The speculation began after a photo of the two together surfaced on social media, leading to rumors that Femi One was Ndung’u’s daughter. The situation sparked amusement among netizens, with some questioning how Femi One could be a secular artist given Hezeh Ndung’u’s strict religious background.
In a recent interview on the Mic Cheque podcast, Femi One expressed her confusion over how the story originated, noting that many people have come to believe it. She clarified that she is not related to the Akorino singer in any way and remains baffled by how such false narratives can gain traction.
Femi One also mentioned that her late father’s name was Peter Kimani, who passed away some time ago.
