A Kenyan artist, strikingly similar in appearance to the late American rapper Bashar Barakah Jackson, better known as Pop Smoke, was recently seen entertaining fans on the streets of Nairobi. The artist performed some of Pop Smoke’s popular tracks, as captured in a video shared by comedian and digital creator Vituko za Difre.
The Kenyan rapper impressed the crowd with his skills, sparking a conversation about how Kenya seems to have numerous celebrity lookalikes. Recent years have seen Kenyans resembling celebrities such as Ruger, Jason Derulo, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Vybez Kartel, and Diamond Platnumz, among others.
Here are some fan reactions:
- Director Larry: “Naona tukieka event yetu international moja sana đđđ.”
- Phines Sayoma: “đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł enough is enough. Bado Sasa Travis Scott.”
- Oluwa Favoured: “Werey, people create your own đđ 2nd-hand artists everywhere đđ.”

Pop Smoke gained prominence with his breakout singles “Welcome to the Party” and “Dior” in 2019 and frequently collaborated with UK drill artists and producers. Tragically, Pop Smoke was murdered during a home invasion in his Los Angeles rental house on February 19, 2020, at the age of 20.
