Christopher Mosioma, also known as Embarambamba, has returned to the music scene with a new song called “Nikuingize Ndani”. In the music video, the Kisii gospel singer is seen singing to a woman in the bush while doing his signature dances and jumping on trees. The controversial video shows Embarambamba dressed only in a white towel, which has sparked discussions within and outside of the gospel circles.
Despite the provocative visuals, Embarambamba insists that the message of the song is about inviting people to Christ. The chorus of the song, “Nataka nikuingize ndani, ndani ya Yesu,” translates to “I want to bring you inside, inside of Jesus”. He defends his use of such lyrics, stating that it is the reason his songs are popular with the masses.
Regarding his unusual attire in the video, Embarambamba explains that he is tearing away his earthly clothes, which represent his weaknesses, and putting on the robe of Jesus. He believes that his unique approach to gospel music is what sets him apart and attracts a wider audience.
Although the video may raise eyebrows, Embarambamba’s return to the music scene has certainly caused a stir, and many are curious to see what he will do next.
