Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has faulted Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for what she termed as disrespect toward ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking during a political function, Wanga claimed that Raila had sent Kalonzo a private letter inviting him to attend the recently held ODM anniversary celebrations. However, instead of responding privately, Kalonzo chose to address the matter through the media.

“Kalonzo hauna adabu. Baba alikuandikia barua ya siri ukuje kwa Sherehe ya ODM, kwani nini unakuja kumjibu kwa media badala ya kumjibu kwa siri vile alifanya?” Wanga remarked.

Her statement comes amid growing tensions within the Azimio la Umoja coalition, where questions of unity, loyalty, and succession continue to dominate political debates.

Wanga emphasized that respect for coalition partners is key to maintaining cohesion, adding that Raila’s long-standing role in the opposition struggle deserves courtesy and honor from his allies.

Kalonzo, seen by many as Raila’s potential successor in Azimio, has in recent days made bold pronouncements that have sparked speculation about his relationship with Odinga and the ODM party.

Wanga’s rebuke reflects simmering undercurrents in the opposition camp, as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
