The Jubilee Party has proposed a running mate for Deputy President William Ruto this been bad news to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Jubilee Party through its Deputy Secretary-General has proposed a running mate for DP Ruto communicating that among faces in the Mt Kenya region DP Ruto camp has prepared his running mate position in particular Mathira Member of Parliament Hon Rigathi Gachagua, Alice Wahome, and Ndindi Nyoro.
Mathira Member of Parliament Hon. Rigathi Gachagua remains as the best bet to Deputize DP Ruto and has all the qualities to take over the position
The Jubilee Deputy Secretary-General has said that very much like in the UDA, even in Azimio la Umoja which is supporting Raila Odinga’s statehouse bid, they should ensure that a leader from Mt Kenya area who will be chosen for a running mate position should be a leader who adds value of Raila’s candidature and be in a situation to take on Tanga with equivalent aggression like that shown by MP Rigathi Gachagua in UDA
“It is clear Rigathi will be Ruto’s running mate. It will have to be fire for fire and so we need someone with equal aggression. We do not want to give it to people just because they have money and name, but people with the political spine and punch, not those sitting on the fence and waiting for endorsements,” the Cherang’any MP said.
Adding to his comments, Kutuny has said that what they need Azimio la Umoja is a serious leader from Mt Kenya area fit to be selected as Raila Odinga’s running mate saying that “There are people who were given opportunities to prove them but failed. The President has been struggling with the shortage of leaders who can communicate to his community successfully like the way Rigathi has succeeded in poisoning the Mountain in favor of Ruto.”
