Ruto’s Mother Speaks: “My Son Has Always Been on the Move”

President-elect William Ruto’s mom, Mama Sarah Cheruiyot, has credited her child’s triumph in the presidential appeal to God and hard work.

Addressing KTN News after the Supreme Cout upheld Ruto’s success on Monday, Mama Sarah said she was really glad that the desire of the Kenyan people had prevailed.

“I thank God for being with us. I have nothing more to say because God has answered our prayers,” she said at her Kamagut home in Turbo, Uasin Gishu County.

At the point when asked how she was feeling under the watchful eye of the Supreme Court verdict, Cheruiyot said: “I slept at peace and left all the burden to my Lord.”

Mama Sarah portrayed the duly elected president as a determined worker whose excursion to State House began in the mid 1990s. She expressed seniors in Uasin Gishu County saw leadership ascribes in the then-youthful Ruto.

“My son has always been on the move. I recall [in the early 1990s] when elders came and asked us to allow him to join politics. Since then, he has always moved up the ladder until now, when he has been confirmed as president-elect,” she said.

Adding: “I thank God for being with him. I thank Kenyans for voting for him. This fete wouldn’t have been possible with prayers only.”

“I’m now urging Ruto to work for Kenyans who believed in him and voted for him as the country’s fifth president.”
