It has now emerged that ODM leader Raila Odinga was battling a series of illnesses and health conditions at the time of his death early Wednesday.
This is according to doctors at the Devamatha Hospital in Southern India, where he was rushed to after collapsing as a result of a cardiac arrest.
According to the CPR specialist who attended to him, upon conducting further tests on his body, they discovered Raila was diabetic, had kidney-related complications and Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) in the right leg, and had a history of collapsing.
The lead medic also stated that upon being rushed in, they tried to save him through Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedure and other strategies but were not successful.
”We continued CPR and other measures, but we could not make him survive. We are very sorry that he is no more with us. And our very sincere condolences and prayers for his family and the Kenyan people,” the doctor stated.
Raila had been receiving treatment at the Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital and Research Centre and reportedly fell during a walk.
