Despite the celebratory occasion, Maame Yeboah Asiedu faced criticism from her fellow Ghanaians, who accused her of marrying a younger man based in the USA with the intention of obtaining his green card.
Amidst the controversy, Maame Yeboah Asiedu decided to address the situation and clarify her perspective. In a self-recorded video, she vehemently asserted that she played no role in the dissolution of her previous marriage.
According to her, it was her ex-husband who initiated the annulment process, expressing his disinterest in the marriage. Maame Yeboah Asiedu revealed that despite her best efforts to salvage the relationship, her attempts were in vain, and she was unable to prevent the eventual breakdown of her 19-year-long marriage.
