For a considerable duration, the Kenyan singer Bahati and his wife, Diana Marua, have stood as an exemplary couple for many Kenyans. Their willingness to openly share the journey of their love and the secrets that strengthen their bond has captivated the public’s attention.
During a recent Q&A session with her nanny, Diana Marua made an astonishing revelation that left fans in awe of her down-to-earth nature, despite her earning more than her husband. In a video posted on her YouTube channel, the mother of three shed light on the glue that binds their relationship together.
Discussing financial matters, Diana Marua disclosed that their income constantly fluctuates, with times when she earns more than Bahati. Nevertheless, she emphasized that regardless of her earnings, she continues to submit to her husband.
“At this very moment, I can confidently say that I am earning slightly more than him. Our financial situation fluctuates, but there are times when Bahati’s music performs well, and he has shows, thus generating a substantial income. Even during periods when his income isn’t as stable, and I’m earning more, I still maintain humility before my husband, regardless of the respective balances in our bank accounts,” Diana Marua explained.
Diana Marua also reminisced about a time when Bahati confronted her about her lavish lifestyle. She shared, “One day he told me, ‘I cannot sustain the lifestyle you had before, and if it’s going to be challenging moving forward, this won’t work.’ He was direct and candid. In response, I made adjustments by simplifying my appearance. I trimmed my nails, removed my nail polish, and embraced a more natural look. I believe this was a test of our commitment. I prayed for God to test me with this relationship so that He could see my patience and dedication.”
Marua disclosed that there were two years in their relationship during which she had very little money, and she began to question her choice of life partner. However, when their circumstances improved, Bahati provided guidance and support, helping her navigate her fears.
“Bahati has consistently believed in me, even when I lacked self-confidence,” Marua stated. “He is my everything, the alpha and omega of my life. I attribute my success to God, who worked through Bahati. I’ve never viewed the money I earn as solely mine. Any business endeavors I’ve undertaken, when I receive income, I discuss it with Bahati and ask, ‘What should we do with this money?’ Sometimes I disclose my account balance to him, and he advises me on how to manage it.”
In essence, Diana Marua’s candid revelations reflect the strong foundation of trust, communication, and support that sustains her relationship with Bahati, making them a model couple in the eyes of many Kenyans.
