IG Mutyambai son RELEASED after Killing TWO people in a street Mishap

David Mwendwa, son of the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai was released on a Ksh20,000 cash bail.

He is expected to be charged with two counts of causing death by irresponsible driving after an accident that happened on thursday.

Its said that Mwendwa was driving the vehicle which knocked down a motorbike killing two on the spot and injuring another.

Mwendwa will be charged of making serious injuries to a pedestrian following the horrifying accident.

A senior cop at Lang’ata Police Station told Muranganews that the file was ready and it was to be sent to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for recommendation.

The mishap involved a double cab pick up, a pedestrian and a motorcyclist and his passenger.

“Already, a total of five witnesses have recorded statement with the police over the accident and the file will be sent to the DPP’s office,” the officer who spoke in confidence as he is not authorised to address the media said.

As indicated by Mwendwa, he was driving at a high speed along the bustling Lang’ata Road when a motorcyclist made a u-turn out of the blue in front of him.

He then, at that point, tried to control the vehicle not to hit the motorcyclist and wound up knocking down a pedestrian that was crossing the road.

Muranganews has established that the pedestrian was rushed to a nearby hospital and is fighting for his life.

However,Nairobi Traffic Police boss Joshua Omukhata on Saturday, December 4, told the media that Mwendwa will be arraigned in court.
