Renowned Ugandan artist Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Jose Chameleone, has provided explicit instructions regarding his burial preferences.
In a recent episode of the After 5 show on NBS television, the celebrated “Mateeka” artist fearlessly outlined the dos and don’ts for his funeral. Chameleone expressed a desire for genuine appreciation, stating that those who failed to acknowledge him during his lifetime should not feign concern after his demise.
Addressing the issue, he remarked, “There are some individuals patiently waiting for my demise to start playing my music all day, just as they did with Radio.”
Furthermore, Chameleone contemplated turning his funeral into a spectacle, proposing the idea of charging entrance fees to attract a diverse audience from around the world. He suggested entrusting the organization to individuals like Balaam, allowing them to decide on the venue, whether it be a boat cruise or Cricket Oval.
“I want to be buried in a glass coffin,” Jose Chameleone declared during the show. The “Forever” singer revealed his aspiration for an extraordinary casket that would allow everyone, even those at the rear, to view his body. Anticipating attendees from various countries such as Malawi and Angola, he envisioned a funeral where people celebrate with dance instead of mourning.
Chameleone emphasized his preference for a white suit, instructing his friend Kim Swagga regarding the attire in which he wishes to be laid to rest. In unveiling his funeral plans, the legendary musician showcased his distinctive approach to leaving a lasting impression on those who would gather to commemorate his life.
