” I Know Who Murdered My Daughter, I Have Forgiven Jowie Irungu” Monica Kimani’s Dad Says.

The bereaved father of Monica Kimani, the slain businesswoman who tragically lost her life six years ago in a heinous murder at her own home, has made a poignant decision to advocate for forgiveness.

Having relocated to the United States of America, he expressed the profound agony of losing Monica, their firstborn, and emphasized that no parent should ever endure such a harrowing experience.

Reflecting on the judicial proceedings, he admitted that the verdict did not come as a surprise, as he had already harbored suspicions regarding the perpetrator even before the trial commenced. His son, a key witness, provided crucial insights into the identity of the assailant.

Despite the immense pain he carries, he has chosen to release himself from the burden of resentment by extending forgiveness to Jowie Irungu, the convicted perpetrator. He even expressed his willingness to visit Jowie upon his return to Kenya. Additionally, he intends to facilitate a reconciliation between the families involved—Monica’s, Jowie Irungu’s, and that of Maribe—to foster mutual forgiveness and enable everyone to move forward with their lives.

Acknowledging that Monica can never return and that justice has been served, he highlighted the uncertainty of tomorrow, noting that Jowie might eventually be released from prison, given the absence of the death penalty in Kenya. In light of this, he emphasized forgiveness as the pathway to healing, affirming his readiness to embrace this ethos.
