Meet The Man Behind The Invention Of ‘PLEASE CALL ME’- Text Service

This handsome and young innovative man is called Nkosana Makate. He hails from South Africa and was born in the year 1977. He is the current director of finance control at South Africa Local Government Association (SALGA). Before rising to such a high level rank, Makate started from a low level in his career by joining Vodacom Pty (Limited) as an accountant after being awarded the scholarship in 1995. He is the man being the invention of the common micro – text service message “Please Call Me”.

The main aim of his invention was to cater for the needs of Vodacom users whereby one can send a free message to another user with a request to call them back without having credit. While working at Vodacom, he shared the idea with his employer and it was executed into service in 2001 without a compensation plan laid for him. He didn’t loose hope and presented the matter to the court where he has been battling the case for over 8 years. At last he found justice from the North Gauteng High Court whereby a ruling was made in favor of him to receive ksh 354 million. Congratulations to him.
