There was drama at the Kondele region in Kisumu County after a matatu driver engaged some cops in a furious showdown that nearly turned deadly.
As indicated by reports, the police were on patrol when they waved to the matatu at the Kondele stage.
They were pursuing the matatu for purportedly flouting Covid-19 guidelines that have been imposed to abridge the spread of the dangerous Covid in the lakeside town.
The driver however resisted arrest, prompting a monstrous encounter with the police.
The rogue driver began trading blows with the cops during the skirmish and nearly brought business to a stop at the bustling stage.
In a video shared on social platforms, the driver is seen throwing a hefty right punch at one of the cops who was armed with an Ak-47.
The officer tumbled to the ground and when he rose, he brandished his AK-47 and threatened to shoot the driver as the general public watched.
A public however was heard daring the irritated cop to shoot the driver if that he is a man enough.
The driver was later stifled and taken to Kondele police station.
