Flamboyant lawyer  Ahmednasir: Why My Wife is a Stay-at-Home Mum Despite having First Class Honours at the University

Flamboyant lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi, popularly known as the “Grand Mullah,” recently shared insights into his wife’s career choices, offering a glimpse into why she works from home despite holding a first-class degree in Information Technology.

During an interview on the Churchill Show, Ahmednasir revealed that his wife, a graduate of Middlesex University in the United Kingdom, decided to stay home after they had their first child—a decision made mutually for the benefit of their family.

Ahmednasir recounted that he met his wife after returning to Kenya from his studies in the United States. Following the birth of their first child, his wife traveled to the UK to pursue her studies. She excelled academically and graduated with first-class honours.

Upon her return to Kenya, Ahmednasir requested that she work from home to manage their household effectively. He clarified that this decision was not a reflection of her capabilities or qualifications but rather an effort to maintain balance in their family life.

“She works from home full-time, and she is very efficient at what she does,” Ahmednasir explained, emphasizing that his wife is not unemployed. Instead, she works remotely and earns a full-time salary, showcasing her productivity and effectiveness despite not being in a traditional office setting.

The couple has four children: a son and three daughters. Ahmednasir credits their family’s harmony and structure to the joint decisions they have made over the years.

This revelation drew attention, particularly because of Ahmednasir’s high-profile career and the broader discussions surrounding traditional gender roles in professional environments. As one of Kenya’s leading legal minds, the Senior Counsel has built a stellar career representing prominent clients in high-stakes cases. He also serves as the Chairman of Al-Nur Media Africa and publishes the Nairobi Law Monthly magazine.

In addition to his demanding legal career, Ahmednasir has ventured into various industries, including insurance, banking, and real estate, cultivating an impressive business portfolio. Despite these professional commitments, his personal life reflects a strong family-centered approach.
