Kenyan content creator Prudence Chepkirui Tonui, also known as King Kalala, recently provided insight into her perspectives on marriage and family dynamics. In an interview on the Obinna Show conducted on September 26, she openly discussed her current relationship status and her thoughts on commitment and family responsibilities.
Amidst ongoing speculation regarding her personal preferences, King Kalala expressed her desire to embrace traditional gender roles in a romantic relationship. The 25-year-old radio presenter conveyed her preference for not shouldering the sole responsibility of providing for her girlfriend in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship.
Regarding her hesitation towards marriage, King Kalala admitted to being uncertain about committing to marriage at this point in her life. She acknowledged the challenges associated with fidelity and the significant commitment that accompanies marriage. She emphasized the gravity of the vows made before God and the community, stressing that such commitments should not be taken lightly.
“Commitment is a challenging aspect for me. It’s not easy,” King Kalala confessed. “Maybe, as I learn to master this skill, I will consider marriage. Cheating on your boyfriend is one thing, but cheating on your husband after making solemn vows is an entirely different matter.”
Despite her reservations about marriage, King Kalala disclosed her deep affection for children and her desire to have a large family. She envisaged having as many as seven children, with the plan to start when she reaches the age of 37.
King Kalala’s aspiration for a sizable family is rooted in her upbringing within a family of four, which comprised her parents, herself, and her older brother. She sees having a large family as an opportunity to achieve what her own parents could not in terms of family size.
She humorously remarked, “I aspire to have seven kids because, in my own family, we are just two. If my partner and I have disagreements, we must find a way to reconcile. There’s no option for a ‘silent treatment’ lasting for two weeks.”
King Kalala is among several Kenyan female celebrities who have faced scrutiny regarding their physical appearances, but she remains resilient and unshaken by such criticisms.
