General Ogolla met his untimely demise in a helicopter crash on Thursday in the Sindar area of Elgeyo Marakwet County, along with nine other military personnel.

Prior to his tragic passing, General Ogolla had plans to visit Siaya County on Saturday, April 20, to commemorate his father, Joel Okech’s upcoming 100th birthday celebration. The festivities were intended to extend into Sunday and include the local community.

In response to the loss, President William Ruto declared three days of national mourning in honor of General Francis Ogolla.
