Eric Omondi has shared a disconcerting video featuring a young school-going child navigating a bridge alone, eliciting varied responses. Omondi attributes the responsibility for this perilous situation to political leaders who, in his words, “sleep pretty well at night yet their constituents are risking their lives outside their.”
Expressing concern, Omondi questions the leaders, stating, “How do these leaders even sleep at night??? So this little girl faces death every morning. If she makes one little misstep that’s it.”
He further emphasizes, “We lose her!!! This child could lose her life just because of some GREEDY, GLUTTONOUS, and Murderous Leader.”
In light of this alarming situation, the comedian, known for his “Sisi Kwa Sisi movement” aimed at assisting less privileged Kenyans, urges the public to help him identify the young girl. His intention is to relocate her and her family to Nairobi, ensuring that she never has to cross the perilous bridge again.
“I am looking for this girl; we have to save her. We will bring her and her family to Nairobi,” he declares with a firm commitment to preventing the young girl from traversing the bridge of “death” again.
The comedian’s plea elicits mixed reactions from his followers. Some propose that instead of relocating the girl, efforts should be directed towards constructing a stable bridge that would benefit the entire community.
A concerned user suggests, “I was holding my breath until she crossed. That was really baaaaaad. You can do fundraising for the construction of a better bridge. To save the community at large.”
Another user adds, “Taking this kid to Nairobi while the rest of the kids go through this bridge is not a solution. Just build the bridge, and the whole community will celebrate.”
Several comments emphasize the need for a lasting solution, with one user stating, “I think bringing her isn’t the solution but making a safe pathway bridge is the solution because I am sure there are a number of children crossing that death trap.”
The video features the young girl in a grey sweater and marvin, gripping the wooden handles of the bridge while cautiously traversing the seemingly unstable wooden floor over still waters below.
