The accused, identified as Debra Nyanduko, worked as a teller at the bank’s Tom Mboya Branch. She was charged with allegedly stealing KSh 2,410,000 between April 6 and April 24, 2023.
According to the prosecution, the case is bigger than it appears. Investigators revealed that other suspects are still at large, and more arrests are expected as the probe continues.
It also emerged that there is a related case already pending before Court No. 5, which is set for hearing soon.
The presiding magistrate ordered Nyanduko’s case file to be forwarded to the same court for further directions, including whether she will be granted bail or remain in custody.
For now, Nyanduko will remain locked up as investigations gather pace. The court is expected to give its ruling on her bail or bond application in the coming days.
