The groom and his entourage were informed by Pastor Clement Chalulot that, regrettably, the bride would not be present as the guests gathered in the church.
Following the unexpected postponement of the wedding in Bomet, the bride, at the center of the disrupted ceremony, broke her silence, leaving the groom distressed and fueling speculation.
The scheduled wedding at Kapsoiyo Africa Gospel Church (AGC) in Bomet, officiated by Pastor Clement Chalulot, took an unforeseen turn on Saturday when the bride, at the last minute, expressed reticence and requested rescheduling.
Everything had been proceeding according to plan until the wedding committee received the sudden news that the bride would not be attending, leaving the groom and his entourage eagerly awaiting her arrival.
Additional reports indicate that the bride not only requested more time but also failed to provide essential documentation, including her National ID, crucial for the preparation of the marriage certificate.
“The development came to our attention at the last minute. The bride declined to submit crucial documents like her ID, and despite the groom’s reassurance that everything was in order, she displayed a reluctance to proceed with the wedding as initially planned,” shared the pastor with journalists.
He added, “While this is unfortunate, we consider ourselves somewhat fortunate because we have only utilized Ksh50,000 from our total wedding budget.”
The disappointment extended to the relatives and friends who had gathered at the wedding venue, as the bride, seeking more time, remained uncommunicative and unwilling to engage in extensive discussions.
After the calamitous events, the bride spoke out, confirming that she had been at home with her parents and refuting rumors of her disappearance. Although the wedding was postponed, she emphasized that it had not been canceled and expressed anticipation for the event.
“Yesterday, we were informed that the wedding could not proceed due to delays in some paperwork, but we were eagerly awaiting the day,” she explained. Requesting patience from the public, she urged against premature judgment, revealing that they were waiting for the pastor’s call to resume the wedding.
“I am waiting for the reverend to call us. We didn’t cancel the wedding; it was postponed,” she clarified.
The timeline for the rescheduled wedding and the resolution of the reasons behind its postponement remains uncertain.
