Renowned Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Esther Akoth, famously known as Akothee, has shed light on her complex relationship with her ex-lover Nelly Oaks and the events leading to her marriage and separation from Swiss businessman Denis Schweizer, also known as Mister Omosh.
A Decade-Long Love Story
Akothee and Nelly Oaks shared a relationship spanning over a decade before their final breakup last year. Shortly after the split, Akothee entered a new chapter, dating and eventually tying the knot with Mister Omosh in a grand wedding ceremony.
A Short-Lived Marriage
Despite the lavish celebrations, Akothee and Mister Omosh parted ways after she accused him of hiding crucial details about his life before their marriage in April last year—a revelation that left her deeply upset.
No Infidelity, Just External Influences
Akothee recently clarified that her separation from Nelly Oaks was not due to infidelity. Speaking candidly on her social media platforms, she explained that their private approach to resolving issues helped them reconcile in the past. However, once their breakup became public, external opinions made reconciliation much harder.
“Forgiveness is much easier when the issue remains between the two of you. But once you involve the public, it becomes harder to reconcile,” Akothee shared.
She emphasized that many of their challenges stemmed from external influences, particularly from people they allowed into their inner circle. Prolonged periods apart also contributed to their struggles.

Despite the ups and downs, Akothee admitted that her bond with Nelly Oaks remains strong.
“We’ve realized we can’t live without each other,” she revealed, hinting at a deep connection that has endured years of trials and separations.
