Brave activist Sophie Njehia has ignited fresh debate after calling out top government officials over their alleged stance on the use of force against young protesters.
In her remarks, she accused President William Ruto of presiding over a system where deadly force was used on young people, claiming there has been no clear remorse or accountability.
She also pointed to statements by Aden Duale, who previously suggested that shooting suspects in the leg is a form of immobilization, and Nelson Koech, who indicated support for tough police measures. According to Njehia, such sentiments raise serious concerns about the approach taken toward handling youth-led demonstrations.
The activist further highlighted unresolved justice issues, referencing the “Rex” case, which she says has yet to deliver accountability. She also mentioned the case involving Albert, alleging that senior police officials, including DIG Eliud Lagat, remain in office despite public concerns.
Her statements have fueled ongoing national conversations about police conduct, justice, and the protection of young people during protests.
