East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Oburu Odinga has sharply criticised Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna over his stance within the Orange Democratic Movement.
In a pointed statement, Oburu said, “You cannot oppose what you participated in making. If you are tired of ODM, there are so many parties in Kenya you can join any of them,” suggesting that internal disagreements should be handled differently.
The remarks are widely seen as part of simmering tensions within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), as party leaders navigate differing views on strategy and direction.
Supporters of Oburu argue that party loyalty is crucial, especially at a time when political alignments are shifting. Meanwhile, allies of Sifuna maintain that constructive criticism within a party is healthy and necessary for growth.
The exchange underscores the internal debates shaping ODM’s future as leaders position themselves ahead of upcoming political contests.
