National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has revealed that President William Ruto has instructed that the widows of the late businessman and politician Cyrus Jirongo be engaged once the mourning period concludes. According to Wetang’ula, the President wants the family to have an opportunity to present the challenges they are facing so that appropriate support can be provided.
Speaking publicly, Wetang’ula described the move as a gesture aimed at ensuring that the family’s needs are addressed in a timely and compassionate manner. He emphasized that such engagement reflects the government’s commitment to supporting bereaved families during difficult times.
The statement has drawn attention to the importance of national leaders showing empathy and taking practical steps to assist families affected by tragedy. Kenyans have since praised the initiative, describing it as a responsible and considerate approach to supporting the late Jirongo’s family.
