Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has mocked COTU Secretary-General Seth Panyako following his loss in the Malava parliamentary race. Speaking light-heartedly, Junet described politics as an extremely difficult venture, admitting that he had initially believed Panyako was headed for victory.
Junet said Panyako’s emotional campaign moments had convinced him that the seat was secured. However, his confidence quickly turned into shock after official results declared Ndakwa as the winner.
Taking a swipe at Panyako, Junet reminded him of past remarks in which he distanced himself from ODM leader Raila Odinga. According to Junet, politics is a harsh classroom where repeated losses are often necessary before one fully understands the struggle involved.
He added that Panyako’s defeat should serve as a lesson, noting that falling several times is sometimes the only way politicians learn resilience and humility. Junet concluded by saying that Panyako would now better appreciate the challenges Raila Odinga has faced throughout his long political career.
