On Sunday, hundreds of Kenyan Gen Zs turned up in large numbers at the JCM Church in Ruiru for the thanksgiving ceremony of Kaluma Boy, following last week’s successful mega fundraiser.
The youth had earlier vowed to attend the event in solidarity with Kaluma and his family—and they truly delivered on their promise.
During the service, the congregation organized yet another fundraising drive to further support the family. Reports indicate that a special collection for Kaluma’s mother raised an impressive KSh 2 million in less than 30 minutes, an emotional moment that left her in tears as she hugged her son in gratitude.
This comes on top of other pledges made to Kaluma, including a fully sponsored university scholarship for his degree course.
Kenyans have since lauded the young generation for their compassion and unity, praising them for rallying behind one of their own. They have also encouraged Gen Zs to continue extending such acts of kindness to other struggling families across the country.
