“Peter Kaluma Warns kenyan Gen Z: Don’t Copy Nepal, Military Rule Is Worse!”

Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has issued a stern warning to Kenya’s Gen Z, urging them not to draw inspiration from recent events in Nepal, where the country has reportedly come under military rule.

Kaluma, known for his outspoken views, reminded Kenyans that democracy, however imperfect, is far better than life under the control of the military.

“Kenyans Gen Z should not draw any ideas from Nepalese Gen Z. The country of Nepal is now under military rule. The people of Nepal will now know why the worst democracy is better than the best military rule any day,” he cautioned.

His remarks come at a time when Gen Z activists in Kenya have become increasingly vocal on matters of governance, accountability, and social justice. Their demonstrations, especially in recent months, have rattled the political establishment, with many leaders either embracing their energy or warning against what they see as reckless agitation.

By pointing to Nepal, Kaluma appeared to be drawing parallels, suggesting that unchecked radicalism and anti-establishment movements could open the door to instability and authoritarian rule. His warning adds to the ongoing debate about how far Gen Z should push the boundaries of activism in shaping Kenya’s future.

For now, his words serve as both a cautionary tale and a challenge — highlighting the delicate balance between demanding reform and safeguarding democracy.
