A man has been left devastated and humiliated after his wife tragically died in a guest house while in the company of another man.
The woman, identified as Paulina, a mother of three, reportedly sneaked out of her marital home at around 10 p.m. a few days ago to meet her lover at the lodge.
Her husband, who works as an okada rider, said he returned home that night to find his children hungry and alone. They told him their mother had left just moments before his arrival.
“I tried calling her but her phone was off. I cooked for the children and waited for her to return, but she never did. By the next morning, I decided to report her disappearance to the police,” he narrated.
Shockingly, while at the police station, he was informed that an unidentified woman had been found dead in a guest house and her body taken to the mortuary. Upon arrival, he confirmed it was indeed his wife.
According to police, Paulina had checked into the guest house with another man. After spending some time together, the man allegedly left, claiming he was going to buy food. He never returned, and Paulina was later discovered lifeless in the room.
To make matters worse, the grieving husband revealed that his in-laws are now battling him over her burial and the custody of their children.
“We had been married for 15 years. Though I hadn’t yet paid her dowry, she was still my wife. I never mistreated her,” he explained, adding that their marriage had long been troubled by her infidelity.
He recalled that he once begged her to stop cheating, but she bluntly told him she wanted a man with money and not a ‘broke hustler’ like him.
“I tried to make her understand that things would get better with time, but she refused to listen. I still loved her regardless,” he said.
