Shock and sorrow have hit a family in Kiambu after a boda boda rider revealed the painful details surrounding the sudden death of his wife, Paulina.
The mother of three reportedly left her home at night to meet another man at a local guest house.
According to police, she checked in with her companion, but the man later walked out claiming he had gone to buy food and never returned.
Hours later, Paulina was found dead inside the room.
Her husband narrated how he had returned home that evening to find their children hungry and unattended, only to learn the following morning that his wife had passed away in a lodging.
Speaking with grief, the boda boda rider disclosed that he had long struggled with betrayal in his marriage.
He recalled warning his wife against infidelity, but she openly dismissed him.
“She told me she was looking for a man with money and not a broke person like me,” he painfully remembered.
Despite the humiliation, he said he remained patient, hoping that his hard work would one day be enough for his family.
Tensions deepened during Paulina’s burial as her relatives demanded to take charge of both the funeral and the children.
However, the widower stood firm, insisting that although he had not paid a dowry, he had lived with her for 15 years and loved her dearly.
Paulina’s sudden death has left her family and the community shaken, raising painful questions about love, betrayal, and the heavy cost of broken trust.
