“Hii Chakula Yote itaenda Wapi” KSh 986k Wedding Ends in Disappointment as Bride and Groom Fail to Show Up

A family in Tanzania has been left in shock after a wedding they spent nearly KSh 986,000 to prepare for did not go as planned. According to the bride’s mother, the couple — her daughter and the groom — failed to attend their own wedding, leaving guests and family members in confusion and disappointment.

In an interview with Nyundo TV, the bride’s mother, Fatma Asma, said her daughter left home on the morning of the wedding but never returned to the venue as expected.

“She left in the morning and promised to come back. Until now, I don’t know where she is or if she’s okay. I’m truly heartbroken,” Fatma explained.

The family had invested heavily in planning the ceremony. The venue was fully decorated, and food was prepared in large quantities, as is customary during weddings. Guests had started arriving, only to be informed that the couple would not make it.

According to the caterer, a last-minute issue within the bride’s family caused the groom to stay away as well, choosing instead to support his partner through the situation.

“The groom felt it was best to be with the bride and help her through a problem that came up in her family. Despite their absence, we ensured that guests were served properly,” the caterer said.

The caterer also shared that this was not the first challenge the couple had faced while trying to get married. Reportedly, previous wedding attempts were disrupted by unexpected events — including a road accident involving the groom’s brother and the sudden death of a close relative.

“This was the fourth time such an incident has occurred. The bride has been under a lot of stress. We are praying for strength for both of them,” the caterer added.

Despite the absence of the couple, parents from both families were reportedly supportive and remained hopeful for better days ahead.
