Nyayo police officer found dead in suspected homicide; had 2 deep chest stab wounds

Tragedy struck in the Ngei Phase II neighborhood of Kitengela Lane, Nairobi County, where a police officer was discovered unconscious and bleeding heavily by the roadside.

The officer has been identified as Corporal Mark Ayabei, serving at the Nyayo Police Post under Langata Police Station, Nairobi County.

Eyewitnesses, private security guards Tirus Otieno and Thomas Osoro, reported spotting the unconscious officer and promptly alerted the authorities.

The Lang’ata duty officer swiftly arrived at the scene, confirming Corporal Ayabei’s identity and noting two stab wounds visible on his chest.

The incident was promptly investigated by the Deputy Divisional Police Commander of Langata, the Orderly Officer, and the Duty Officer, in conjunction with Scene of Crime personnel from the Nairobi Regional Criminal Investigations Office. The crime scene was processed, documented, and the body transported to Umash Funeral Home for further examination.

While the exact circumstances leading to Corporal Ayabei’s death are still under investigation, authorities are treating the case as a suspected murder.
