Mystery as 4 suspects linked to Eastleigh’s KSh3.9 million robbery found dead

Police have recently recovered the bodies of four individuals suspected of involvement in a robbery with violence case, which occurred just a fortnight prior involving a businessman in Eastleigh.

The incident on March 30 was captured on CCTV, depicting the suspects assaulting the businessman while he was on a motorcycle, subsequently shooting him and fleeing with a substantial sum of money totaling KSh3.9 million.

Within a short span of two weeks, the bodies of the four suspects were discovered in various locations across Kajiado and Kiambu counties, indicating they had met a violent end.

Fredrick Obote’s body was found on April 4 in a wooded area near the View Point in Kiambu County, and following an autopsy conducted by pathologist Simon Omoko, it was determined that he had died as a result of strangulation.

Similarly, Walter Kibe Mwangi’s body was recovered from a river in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County, and subsequent examination revealed that he too had been strangled to death.

Esther Wanjiku, believed to be the leader of the gang, was positively identified among the deceased. Her body was discovered in Juja, Kiambu County, and she was initially considered a murder victim. It is suspected that Wanjiku played a pivotal role as a surveillance operative leading up to the robbery in Eastleigh.

Another unidentified body is currently held at the Naivasha sub-County Hospital mortuary, awaiting autopsy.

Although the police assert that these four individuals were likely responsible for the robbery with violence in Eastleigh, the circumstances surrounding their deaths and who orchestrated them remain unclear.
