DCI detectives, acting on a tip-off from the public, seized an unspecified quantity of marijuana in Nakuru County on Friday.
The detectives intercepted a “suspicious” Nissan Vanette with registration KBX 684H in Subukia while it was en route to Nakuru.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as 32-year-old Evans Oluoch Rogo, was apprehended. Upon searching the vehicle, the officers discovered nine bales of marijuana concealed within sacks of hay.
Following interrogation, Rogo led the detectives to his accomplices, who were found at Qualit Hotel in Nakuru city enjoying their time.

Ali Abdikadir Ali, aged 30, and Ortofa Dida, aged 28, were intercepted, and their Toyota Crown Royal Saloon with registration KBZ 861H was searched. The detectives uncovered 36 bales of marijuana weighing a total of 79 kilograms.

The detectives promptly reported the case to the Rift Valley Regional Headquarters in Nakuru. The suspects will remain in police custody until their arraignment scheduled for Monday, April 8.
