Krg the Don, a prominent figure in Kenya’s dancehall scene, stirred up a digital storm by initiating a public feud with Stivo Simple Boy, a move that generated widespread attention and controversy. The conflict took a personal turn when Krg the Don opted to engage in body-shaming directed at Simple Boy.
In response, Stivo Simple Boy posted a provocative message online, seemingly aiming to enhance his influence. He asserted that Krg the Don was being referenced in his posts, a claim Krg vehemently denied any awareness of. This exchange added fuel to an ongoing online discussion where many Kenyans professed unfamiliarity with Krg’s music.
As expected, Krg the Don decided to counterattack against Stivo. During an interview with Nicholas Kioko, Krg the Don acknowledged knowing Stivo Simple Boy but emphasized that they had never met in person. The verbal assault escalated, with Krg branding Simple Boy as unattractive and resembling a scarecrow. He mockingly suggested the only job he could offer was scaring away birds in his fields.
According to Krg, Stivo had a long way to go, struggling in Nairobi without having crossed paths with him. Krg issued a warning, threatening the demise of Simple Boy’s musical career if the disrespect continued. Asserting his track record of causing downfall to those who opposed him, Krg urged Stivo to show respect, hinting at potential physical confrontation.
In an interview with Dr. King’ori, Krg the Don expressed a controversial perspective on poverty, considering it a mental ailment rather than a circumstantial condition. He argued that poverty is a cultural mindset that needs to be eradicated from the lives of many impoverished individuals in Kenya. Rejecting the notion that God created poverty, Krg attributed financial struggles to a mentality that perpetuates a cycle of poverty.
Krg emphasized that one’s impoverished background doesn’t determine a perpetual state of poverty; instead, he advocated for adopting a mindset of wealth and breaking out of comfort zones. Criticizing what he perceived as laziness among the impoverished, Krg contended that many fail to work hard, opting for immediate consumption of money instead of investing wisely.
Having overcome poverty himself, Krg declared that poverty is a severe affliction, prompting him to exclude those experiencing it from his social circle. He encouraged people to awaken to their goals and dreams, emphasizing that achieving wealth demands dedication, self-understanding, and a clear vision for one’s life.
