Afropop sensation Sauti Sol, comprising vocalists Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano, Polycarp Otieno, and Savara Mudigi, has recently disclosed details about an upcoming event following the success of SOL Fest. In line with Chimano’s announcement during the VIP SOL Fest, the band is set to host this event on Friday, November 24, 2023, with ticket prices ranging from Ksh30,000 to Ksh35,000.
The occasion is dedicated to celebrating the band’s affiliation with Capital Club East Africa. Chimano conveyed the invitation, stating, “Join us for an unforgettable night at @capitalclubeastafrica as we celebrate our membership! 🌟 Indulge in a luxurious dinner, mingle with the Capital Club board, and witness an exclusive encore performance by us, @SautiSol. Let’s make memories together in the world of Sol capital experience. 🎶✨.”
This event follows closely on the heels of the band’s energetic final performance at Sol Fest 2023, which occurred just a month ago. Despite potential challenges such as adverse weather conditions, this year’s SOL Fest exceeded expectations, attracting over 15,000 fans to the enchanting Uhuru Gardens. Attendees willingly paid up to Ksh20,000, marking it as a grand send-off for the band after two decades in the industry.
Sauti Sol curated an impressive lineup for SOL Fest 2023, featuring notable local artists like rappers Khaligraph Jones, Nyashinski, singer Dela, and P-Unit members (Gabu, Frasha, and Boneye), as well as Sol Generation signees Nviiri the Storyteller and Bensoul, among others.
A memorable moment from the event involved Nyashinski stealing the spotlight when he unexpectedly took the stage. His cameo appearance, while performing his part in the Sauti Sol collaboration titled ‘Short and Sweet,’ took an amusing turn as the singer tripped and fell—a comical contrast to the previous year’s event, which took place in December 2022.
