“Wanaume Wananikatia sana Kuliko Madem, They Send me Nudes” Creative Phil Reveals.

Renowned male makeup artist in Kenya, Creative Phil, recently opened up about the challenges and advantages inherent in his profession. During an interview with presenter Ali, Phil shared insights into his extensive experience in the makeup industry, primarily working with notable celebrities.

One notable challenge he highlighted was the unwanted attention from gay men, stemming from a misconception about his sexual orientation. Given that Phil frequently applies makeup to himself, some individuals within the LGBTQ community assume he is a member. This misunderstanding has led to advances from gay men who mistakenly believe Phil shares their sexual orientation.

Phil disclosed that he often receives messages in his direct messages (DMs) where men, more than women, express romantic interest, sometimes going to the extent of sending explicit images. Managing these situations becomes a challenging task for Phil, as he strives to clarify that his involvement in makeup artistry is solely a professional pursuit aimed at promoting his brand.

Interestingly, Phil revealed that he was once a member of the LGBTQ society but underwent a personal transformation, opting for a different path in life. Realizing that it was not the direction he wanted for himself, he actively sought a girlfriend and embraced a more conventional lifestyle. Currently in a relationship, Phil mentioned that he distanced himself from his close friend Dennis Karari for various reasons.

Despite recognizing his own attractiveness, Phil emphasized that his appearance does not determine his sexual orientation. He urged men to refrain from making assumptions about his preferences, reiterating that he identifies as straight. Phil concluded by emphasizing the importance of dispelling stereotypes and misconceptions surrounding male makeup artists, reinforcing the idea that one’s profession should not dictate assumptions about their personal life.
