In a recent video addressed to his fans, Andrew Kibe expressed his admiration for the Luo language, stating that he believes it is the sweetest and best language ever. His opinion was sparked by a clip he came across featuring two Luo ladies engaged in a passionate discussion about people’s inquiries into their partner’s past.
During their conversation, the two ladies fervently voiced their disapproval of asking about one’s body count and emphasized the importance of accepting and loving someone as they are, without prying into their personal history.
Although Kibe admitted that he didn’t fully understand the Luo language, he claimed to have a rudimentary understanding of it, allowing him to grasp certain phrases and words used by the ladies. He explained, “Mi naskia kijaka kiasi na kuna words zingine siskii, but niliskia tu bodycount, and I was like, why not play this video?”
Subsequently, the former radio presenter proceeded to compare the Luo language to the Kikuyu language, openly expressing his opinion on the latter. He declared, “Luo is the sexiest language in the world, hands down, but Kikuyu is the most horrible language; it really sounds bad.”
Although Kibe missed out on a few words and their meanings, he found the conversation between the two ladies highly amusing. Additionally, he criticized someone who mentioned the Kalenjin language, asserting that it is not vastly different from the Kikuyu dialect. “Hatuezi export kikuyu na kikale apa nje, people cannot speak that language out there, and worse uongeze kikamba ile wanaongea ni kama wanaimba,” he remarked.
Kibe further highlighted the ease with which the Luo language incorporates English words, allowing for seamless integration of both languages within a single sentence. In contrast, he pointed out that Kikuyu speakers need to alter their grammatical structure to incorporate English words effectively.
