A cop was on Tuesday, January 4 arrested for defiling a detainee at Kigumo Police Station in Murang’a County.
In a police report, the policeman distinguished as Letingis Lentirangoi defiled the minor on December 31 and January 1.
“Please be informed that Police Constable Letingis Lentirangoi, a police officer stationed at Muthithi Police Station was arrested following defilement complaints,” a report filed at Kigumo Police Station read in part.
The casualty let the police know that the suspect took her to an adjacent office and forcefully defiled her.
She said that she would have rather not talk regarding what occurred as she was in fear of being victimized by the officers at the station.

A detective privy to the ongoing investigations attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) told K24 Digital that investigations into the matter had already been concluded.
“A report was filed, and the lady was taken for medical checkup. All this will be produced in court when the suspect is arraigned,” the detective said.
It has additionally been set up that the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is looking into the matter.
