President William Ruto has issued a strong warning to health facilities allegedly charging Kenyans for services meant to be covered under government programs.

Speaking during a public address, the Head of State said that any patient asked to pay for treatment at a public dispensary or health centre should immediately raise the alarm and report the matter to authorities.

Ruto emphasized that the government has allocated sufficient funds to ensure citizens receive medical services without unnecessary financial burden. He warned that individuals demanding payment in such facilities would be treated as fraudsters.

His remarks have sparked debate, with some Kenyans welcoming the tough stance on corruption in the health sector, while others questioned the practical implementation and accessibility of services on the ground.

The President’s statement comes amid ongoing reforms aimed at improving healthcare delivery and ensuring accountability in public institutions.
