President William Ruto has urged Kenyans to register for the Social Health Authority (SHA) program without hesitation, assuring them that treatment under the scheme should be free.
Speaking during a public address, Ruto stressed that any hospital demanding money from patients covered under SHA is engaging in fraudulent activity.
“Wewe register tu SHA, and if a hospital asks you for money on treatment, report it to the nearest Police Station kwa sababu hao ni matapeli,” Ruto said.
The Head of State reiterated that the government’s health insurance reforms aim to ensure affordable and accessible medical care for all Kenyans, warning rogue facilities that stern action will be taken against them.
