Renowned televangelist Pastor Ezekiel Odero has once again stirred heated debate online after issuing a stern warning to Kenyan men about marrying women named Diana.
Speaking during a recent sermon, Pastor Ezekiel claimed that the name Diana carries spiritual consequences that directly affect marriages. According to him, men who choose to marry a Diana should be prepared for a relationship where the woman takes full control.
“Ukioa mwanamke anaitwa Diana uishi na yeye, jua yeye ndio atakucountrol kama robot. Ndio hiyo ndoa idumu. Yeye ndio atakuwa husband, lakini wewe ukiwa mume, Diana hawezi dumu kwa ndoa,” Ezekiel stated, sparking murmurs of disbelief among his congregation.
The controversial pastor went even further, alleging that women named Diana are “spiritually tied” to multiple partners. “Jua ukioa Diana, lazima utashare na watu, sababu jina Diana imebeba mapepo. Hiyo ni ukweli tupu,” he added.
His sentiments have ignited mixed reactions across social media. While some of his followers agreed with the spiritual warning, many Kenyans dismissed the claims as baseless and disrespectful. Critics accused the pastor of spreading fear and stigmatizing women based on their names.
Interestingly, the timing of his remarks has fueled speculation, especially given the constant drama surrounding celebrity couple Bahati and his wife, Diana Marua. Netizens were quick to connect the dots, suggesting that Ezekiel’s statement may have been a subtle reference to the high-profile pair, who often dominate headlines with their publicized relationship issues.
However, Pastor Ezekiel stood firm on his position, insisting that his message was not targeted at anyone specifically but was meant as a “spiritual revelation” for all men seeking lasting marriages.
As the debate rages on, one thing is clear — Pastor Ezekiel’s warning has once again placed him at the center of controversy, with Kenyans divided between viewing him as a prophetic voice or a preacher who thrives on sensational claims.
