US-based evangelist Wairimu Kimani (WK) has addressed allegations surrounding the leak of a controversial audio recording involving a woman named Damaris. The recording, which went viral on social media,
features a conversation in which Damaris purportedly discusses her relationship with Bishop Muthee Kiengei, a prominent clergyman, and shares personal details about his wife, lifestyle, and a recent incident at his church.
The leaked audio quickly ignited widespread online debate, with people taking sides. Some defended Wairimu, while others supported Damaris or Bishop Kiengei. The leak also raised concerns among social media users, many of whom argued that the private conversation should have remained confidential.
One Facebook user, Purity Macharia, criticized the situation, questioning, “Why would you put your friend on speakerphone for such a sensitive discussion? It was meant to be private.” Others shared similar views, emphasizing that the leak constituted a breach of trust.
In response to the accusations, Wairimu Kimani took to Facebook to assert her innocence. She denied any involvement in the leak, explaining that one of two friends who were visiting her during the conversation had betrayed her trust.
“A violation of trust from one out of two friends who were visiting me… A friend of 15 years! I know who did it. I’m devastated,” Wairimu wrote in her post.
