Ugandan Nanny who plotted robbery targeting her employer in Eastleigh arrested

A Ugandan nanny, who had been on the run after her involvement in a bold robbery targeting her employer in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area, has been apprehended.

Nabalayo Everline Loice, 23, was arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Starehe following the robbery incident on November 1, 2024.

According to reports filed at Pangani Police Station, Nabalayo, who was at the residence with a fellow housemaid, deliberately opened the door to admit an unknown assailant armed with a hammer.

“In a shocking turn of events, the two women allegedly assaulted the other maid, leaving her seriously injured in the bathroom,” stated the DCI report.

The thieves made off with valuables, including a gold set worth KSh210,000, a Lenovo XY laptop valued at KSh110,000, and an Infinix phone priced at KSh15,000.

After days of intense investigation, detectives finally located Nabalayo at Kariokor, where she was attempting to flee on a bus bound for Uganda.

She is currently in police custody, undergoing processing ahead of her arraignment. The search for her accomplice, who remains on the run, continues.
