UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala Supports Natembeya’s Call for Mudavadi and Wetang’ula to Retire from Politics

Cleophas Malala, the Secretary General of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), has expressed his support for the movement led by Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya. During a speech in Vihiga County, Malala endorsed Natembeya’s initiative, which advocates for the retirement of Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula from politics.

Malala urged Natembeya to expand the movement’s agenda to include former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and former Defense Minister Eugene Wamalwa.

“I fully support your agenda in Trans Nzoia; I have seen you pushing for Wetang’ula and Mudavadi to retire. However, the list is not complete; even Oparanya and Eugene should retire and rest,” Malala stated.

Malala also criticized Oparanya’s plan to run for the Kakamega Senate seat in 2027, arguing that it is time for Oparanya to retire from politics, having been in power since the days of Ford Asili.

Governor Natembeya’s agenda has also gained support from other politicians, including UDA MP Gathoni Wamuchomba.
