The clergyman, identified as Pastor Stephen Musyoka, was attacked by a swarm of bees during a deliverance session. Witnesses said the pastor had been invited to pray for a family that claimed to be haunted by evil spirits.
According to residents, Musyoka arrived in the afternoon accompanied by church members and began prayers. Midway through, a huge swarm of bees descended on the crowd.
Attempts to rescue him failed as the insects grew more aggressive. Locals eventually used smoke and fire to chase the swarm, but the pastor had already collapsed. He was rushed to a nearby health centre, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Area Chief John Muthama confirmed the incident, saying police had launched investigations into the unusual attack. While initial reports suggest a natural invasion, he noted that authorities were not ruling out foul play. He also urged residents to avoid large gatherings near bee colonies, especially during the hot season when the insects are more hostile.
Pastor Musyoka, well known in the community for his healing and deliverance ministry, had served the area for more than a decade. His sudden death has sparked mixed reactions, with some describing it as a tragic accident and others interpreting it as a spiritual battle gone wrong.
Police have collected samples from the scene and promised a detailed report after investigations. Meanwhile, preparations for the pastor’s burial are underway, as the community continues to mourn his shocking death.
