What happened to Miss Morgan?
Waruinge courageously revealed how she battled depression and alcoholism during her worst days. She admitted to drinking when things did not go as planned in a YouTube interview with Hiram Maina. According to the actor, she experienced a mental and identity crisis. Depression set in at this point, and she turned to alcohol for comfort. The celebrated actor engaged Kenyans.co.ke, and detailed how tearing down her famous Tahidi High character set her on a new path.
Her new-found fervor for life (including her brand new show discussed later on), only came about after she consciously decided to bury her ‘Miss Morgan’ tag and all the vices it came with.
“It has to go down as the single most important decision I’ve ever made. Saying goodbye to Miss Morgan opened me up to a world of new opportunities,” she explained.
Waruinge is also known for appearing in a low-budget HIV/Aids awareness film with “Tahidi High” co-creator Naomi Kamau in 2007. Recently, she has been preparing to launch her own show on her YouTube channel.
